What’s going on everyone. welcome back to the website. today we’re going to be taking a look at my top 10 e-bike accessories. now i own a few other things, but these are items that i take on every single trip that i go on. now, if you own an e-scooter, regular scooter, or even a regular bicycle, most likely you’re gonna find something in here that you want and need. so let me go ahead and set these aside and go over them with you one by one.
1. Portable Bluetooth speaker
this has an eight hour battery life and a strap on the back so it’s designed to go around your bicycle handlebars or even the strap of your book bag. when i first bought it, i was putting this on the down tube of my bike, and the strap here was being overextended. it was holding, but it was really stretching out, so it wasn’t working very well. when i did that, this would fly off a few times because the strap was overextended, and this thing hit the road maybe two or three times.
it’s still held up great. no issues at all. this goes for about $60 cad, and they just released a new model which goes a little bit louder, has longer battery life, and better sound. but if you want something cheaper, this one’s still a great speaker.
2. Multimedia controller
This is a multimedia controller that goes on your handlebars. when i was looking for an easier way to control my music, i looked everywhere—best buy, amazon, all that. most of the options out there were basically low budget, very cheap, not waterproof controllers that ranged from about $15-$25 cad. overall, they had bad reviews.
Luckily, i found this. at $60 cad, this is quite pricey for what it is, but for how well it works, this has been one of my favorite purchases for the bike. it has a rotating dial for volume up and down and a big clicky button in the center to answer calls, reject calls, track forward, track back, and pause or play.
3. Folding Lock
this is a folding lock that weighs 2.2 pounds and goes for about $110 cad. it’s not the cheapest lock out there, but it’s also not the most expensive. what i really like about this lock is the folding shape. i hate carrying around a big heavy cable in my small bag, so this one clips on the down tube. the whole thing just unfolds when you need it.
no lock is gonna stop a thief if they’re determined enough, but a lock like this can scare them away or slow them down. there’s a new version of this lock for $162 cad, which has even better features, so check that out if you want something stronger.
4. Bike Alarm
this is a compact alarm with no attachment points, so you attach it with adhesive or zip ties. it costs about $22 cad. it has a motion sensor, so as soon as it feels like your bike’s been nudged, it gives off a little warning chirp. if they do it again, it starts blaring at 115 decibels.
it’s not the fanciest alarm, but for under $25 cad, it’s worth having for a little extra security.
5. Portable air infiltrator
this portable air inflator is rechargeable, and it’s a game changer. it checks your current tire pressure and inflates it to the psi you set. at about $65 cad, it’s not cheap, but it’s super compact and portable.
if you don’t already, make sure you inflate your tires before every ride. you’d be surprised how much air you lose from one ride to another.
6. Rechargeable tail light
this tail light is rechargeable and lasts about 4-6 hours depending on the mode. it costs $20 cad and has a few different modes like steady red or blinking blue. it’s sleek, simple, and looks great with an e-bike.
7. Electronic bike bell
this electronic horn has seven sounds. i’ve had it on my bike for three years, and i’ve only charged it once. it doesn’t use much battery since it only activates when you press the button. do you need an electronic horn? not really. but for $15 cad, why not. just make sure you buy the right model because some have really cheesy sounds.
8. Front headlight
this 5000 lumen headlight costs $33 cad and is also rechargeable. it’s super bright and even has a built-in power bank. one time, my phone was dying while i was riding, and i used this to charge it. it saved me that day. this is a great light for night riding or just staying visible in low light.
9. Handlebar bike mirror
this bike mirror costs about $20 cad. it doesn’t shake much, and the reflection is super clear. i bought two but ended up only using one. if you’re looking for a mirror, i’d definitely recommend this one.
10. Cycling gloves
I’ve had these gloves for a few months now, and they’ve been fantastic. most gloves i’ve used before were stiff and didn’t absorb vibrations well. these, however, feel soft and pillowy, like clouds between your hands and the handlebars. they cost about $55 cad, which is a bit pricey, but they’ve been worth every penny for me.
Bonus items
- GPS Tracking Sticker ($10 cad): this sticker says “this bike is protected by gps tracking” in bold letters. it’s cheap and might just scare off a potential thief.
- Anime Sweatband ($8 cad): this headband doubles as a sweatband. plus, it’s a fun way to make people think twice before making annoying comments about e-bikes.
that’s my top 10 list. if you have any must-have accessories, let me know in the comments. thanks for reading, and i’ll see you next time.
